Jellybeaners
Tuesdays, 9:30am-11:30am -- 3- 4year olds ($285 12 week session fee, $50 supply and registration fee)
Saturdays, 9:30am-10:30am -- 3-5 year olds ($160 10 week session fee, $50 supply and registration fee)
Theatre for the youngest set! Enhances and develops the creativity and imagination of preschool aged children through fun theatre instruction and creative play.
Creative Players
Creative Players 1 -- Wednesdays, 2:30-3:30 (PreK4 – 4 year olds)
Creative Players 2 -- Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 (Kindergarten)
With an emphasis on children’s literature, this class introduces students to the excitement and fun of the performing arts through experiences in creative drama, music and movement. One hour drama and intro to music/movement.
$260 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee).
Drama Kids
Drama Kids 1 -- 1st and 2nd grade - Thursdays, 3:30-5:00
An introduction to the performing arts through drama, music and dance concepts where kids can stretch their imagination through role playing and creative drama. One hour 15 minutes drama and music theatre movement and music.
$275 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee)
Studio Players (3rd and 4th grade)
Thursdays, 3:45 - 5:30
For the young actor interested in exploring music, drama skills and principles of dance, this is a terrific introduction to theatre arts where students can create characters and dramatize scenes. One hour drama, 45 minutes theatre dance and music.
$299 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee).
Actors Unlimited (5th and 6th grades)
Thursdays, 4:30-6:30
An exposure to all the performing arts through the exploration of current popular books and scripts. Classes include acting skills, stage techniques, and music and movement styles. 1 hour drama, 1 hour musical theatre.
$315 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee).
Rising Stars (7th – 9th grades)
Thursdays, 4:30– 6:30
Exploration of the performing arts through acting styles, stage skills, scene work, theatre games, music and dance techniques. Sections are grouped according to age. One hour drama, one hour music theatre dance and singing.
$315 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee).
Performers Unlimited (4th grade – high school )
Elementary Sections: Tuesdays, 4:00-6:00
Middle School Sections: Tuesdays, 4:30-6:30
For the young actor who has had previous theatre experience or equivalent musical theatre training. Curriculum includes acting techniques, performance styles, singing, and dance production. In January and May, students present a Broadway musical theatre project for family and friends. Placement is by permission of the Director. Please list experience/training. Sections are grouped according to age/experience. One hour acting, one hour singing and dance.
$325 per semester ($95 registration and supply fee).
YAT Dance Division
In addition to the theatre dance classes offered within the curriculum, YAT also offers Broadway style tap/jazz classes (for 3rd grade and above), as well as audition performance classes. Classes are leveled by experience and age. Please mark your application for a dance class registration form and more information or call the YAT office at 386-6602, ext. 1.
Tuition: $195 per semester (1 class), $300 per semester (2 classes)

YAT in Thomasville
The following classes will be offered for the ’09-’10 school year:
A 10-week adventure with "No Strings Attached" -- a fun musical hit based on the classic tale of Pinocchio. The actors will explore acting, music and dance styles through this elightful show. Classes will culminate with a special performance by the children enrolled.
2nd - 4th Grade Friday 3:30 – 4:30pm
5th- 7th Grade Friday 4:30 – 5:30pm
Classes begin Frideay, January 15, 2010 - Friday, March 19, 2010
Performances: Saturday, March 20, 2010 with a dress rehearsal on Friday, March 19 from 3:30pm-5:30pm.
Class Fee: $125 Thomasville Cultural Center Members, $150 non-members & $15 YAT t-shirt
Staff: Several of the YAT faculty will be involved with “YAT in Thomasville” classes. The primary instructor will be Amy Cooke Leach. Amy has a degree from the University of North Carolina and has been teaching dance and drama for over eight years. Her past experience includes four years with the musical theatre program at Leesville High School in North Carolina. She taught creative dramatics and dance for two years at the Master Class Academy in Orlando. Amy is also experienced in technical theatre and has Stage Managed numerous shows. Currently, Amy teaches drama, dance and musical theatre at YAT to students ranging from three years old through high school.
